Karina Carneiro

Born and raised in Brazil, I originally came to Canada to pursue higher level education. I attended Mount Saint Vincent University and Dalhousie University, where I graduated with a joint Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry in 2006. After finishing my undergraduate studies, I joined Hanadi Sleiman’s group as a PhD candidate. My main research project investigates the self-assembly of amphiphilic dendritic DNA (D-DNA) molecules into long range arrays.

I am also highly interested in Education. In September 2008 I joined the Tomlinson Project for University-Level Science Education (T-PULSE) fellowship at McGill University, where I am involved in facilitating the “From teaching to learning” module in a workshop for Science graduate students (http://www.mcgill.ca/science/tpulse/workshop/).
