Kim Metera

I completed my BSc degree at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, near where I grew up. I then moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, to work for a company called Ocean Nutrition Canada. I was there for three years, during which time my research revolved primarily around an immunostimulating extract obtained from an algae. My work involved the isolation and compositional analysis of the complex mixture of biomolecules. In September, 2002, I moved to Montreal to start graduate school at McGill, and joined Dr. Sleiman's group. I have been lucky enough to be able to meet friends from all across Canada, where I have travelled quite a bit. I have been playing ultimate frisbee for the past few years, and I'm looking forward to seeing as much of Montreal as I can while I'm here.
